To better distinguish colors, it contains symbols, aligned with the ColorADD identification system.

It can be found in Lisbon, at the intersection of Avenida da República and Avenida Duque de Ávila, and in 3 more streets in the center, and it will soon reach several Portuguese and worldwide cities.

"A colorblind can take up to 90 seconds to realize that he is green through the positions of traffic lights. In terms of road safety, it makes all the difference to cancel those 90 seconds and it is a way to make the city more inclusive ", explains Francisca Ramalhosa, administrator of the Lisbon Municipal Parking Company (EMEL).

It is estimated that 350 million people around the world live with color-deficient vision.
