Ajax website crashes with Bob Marley inspiring third kit
'Three little birds' are now singin' sweet songs on players' jerseys
The love story between Ajax fans and the Jamaican singer, who believed “Football is Freedom!” started in 2008. After a friendly match against Cardiff, the Dutch fans were asked to remain in the stands and the stadium DJ played 'Three Little Birds'. They instantly embraced the song as their own and have been singing it at every game since then.
Designed by Adidas, the new black kit features red, yellow and green details and three little birds stitched on the back. Unfortunately, when it was released, the Dutch club’s website crashed and the kit was sold out. If you don’t have it yet, “don't worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing gonna be all right!”
Rise up this mornin’, smile with the rising sun.
