Ajax melts down league trophy to give a piece of history to all 42,000 season ticket holders
All over Europe, more Champions are being confirmed with clubs and fans struggling between parties and Covid19 distancing recommendations.
π Ajax will share their latest title success with their fans by melting down the Eredivisie trophy. All 42,000 of the club's season-ticket holders will receive a star weighing 3.45g, 0.06g of which has come from the trophy.
β½ Edwin van der Sar stated: β'After a turbulent year, we are ensuring our fans feel part of our championship.β
π¦ In Portugal, Sporting CP is the champion after 19 years and went live on national TV with a hologram of their captain for an exclusive interviewπ. A well-succeeded PR stunt from their sponsor NOS, promoting the 5G technology (their competitor Vodafone had done similar in Paredes de Coura music festival).
π· The season is reaching the end and the reactions of becoming Champion are being radically different, with some being extra careful like Man City with just 100 fans gathered outside the Etihad to celebrate the Premier League title, and others like Inter Milano or Sporting CP, with thousands of people gathered with no social distance.
π The Champions League final will likely take place in FC Porto's EstΓ‘dio do Dragao. UEFA wants as many fans as possible to be able to attend the final and Portugal offers the twin benefits of allowing supporters back in stadia and being on the UK's green list.
