International Children's Day: did brands just reduce prices for youngsters or did they have more to say/do?
🗓️ International Children's Day was proclaimed in 1925 in Geneva and has since been celebrated on June 1st in several countries. However, the UN also recognizes November 20th as World Children's Day.
Apart from all discounts or special commercial conditions for the kids, here are some examples of brands and initiatives on this special day:
🏥 Zippy teamed up with Fundação do Gil and launched an imaginary kids fashion collection. You can buy every imaginary item online or on the brand outlets, and 100% of net sales go to Fundação do Gil, to build a child mental health clinic.
🇵🇹 Portuguese government launched the online portal “Career Game” (“Jogo das Profissões”), to promote career equality, and aiming to deconstruct gender stereotypes associated with work and profession.
🤡🩺 One year after being put on hold due to the pandemic, the Portuguese Clown Doctors “Operação Nariz Vermelho” chose this day to return physically to three more hospitals.
🐼 New TV channel Panda Kids was launched on June 1st as a pop-up channel and will be on-air for seven months, targeting 6-9 years old children.
And you? On this day, did you took your children to school on a bike 🚲, or did you tell them some of these stories or read these books📚?
